about me

Great Aunt Winnona, always with a knowing twinkle in her eye!

thank you for being here.

As a child I was known for climbing under the dinner table and offering foot massages to my family. I heard voices at an early age whisper entire conversations to me as I lay half awake. I even offered life counseling sessions to friends during recess my entire third-grade year.

I share the above stories to say that the work I am called to do has been with me a very long time.

Fast forward to when I was a 20 year old college student at Parsons School of Design, I moved from New York City to Paris to study abroad. I arrived expecting to learn history of the traditional French design houses. Instead, I went on a spiritual journey that taught me to learn with my heart and not just my head. My Nana sent me a Bible study work-book from rural South Carolina and I could hear the ancestors of my past speaking to me. I felt stuck in a post-colonial world when I longed to be somewhere that was my ancient homeland. It was then that the name Odessa was received and I realized I would always be at home in my body and my guides were just a call away.

6 years on and I had established myself in spa management, received my massage license and was a couple years into my graduate studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Diego. Still, the voices I had heard in France were calling to me. My heart was with nature, mysticism, and intuitive healing through my own ancestral ways. I was called to travel to Brazil where I saw how the African traditions from slavery were still alive and celebrated. I knew I had to apply my own African legacy traditions to my healing work with others.

In 2013 I opened my private practice (utilizing my Great Aunt Winnona’s massage table, gifted to me before her passing, seen in the picture at left). Calling on her as one of my teachers, and all of my ancestors as a strong foundation, I am able to offer intuitive insights to my clients. My life’s vocation is to assist others as they come into full alignment on their own path. I look forward to working with you.
